The Meditation Sessions

When: A 5-week meditatation course, start Tuesday 25/3, 2025 20:00-21:30

Meditation isn't just one thing, and there are many ways to meditate. I mostly practice and teach Buddhist-style meditation, while recognising and including technique and theory from other perspectives and traditions. 

To me, this is not religious, but it is a spiritual practice if you believe that spirituality is about connecting to something vaster than our little 'me, myself and Is,' and if you are longing for the great mystery. 

The Buddha was not a god nor did he make any metaphysical claims, he was simply a human interested in understanding how we can enjoy this one brief life we have instead of wallowing in misery, self-doubt, anxiety and fear.

I have come to recognise that there are four zones of cultivation:

* Mindfulness

* Support/community

* Cultivating the lovely (metta practice for example)

* Flow states /Samadhi

During this course we'll explore these four zones and then, in the final session, we'll put it all together. 

Each Tuesday will include a dharma talk, discussion, then some mindful movement, breathwork and around 30 minutes of guided meditation.

This course is intended for serious beginners, meaning someone who has or has had a regular meditation practice. Maybe you've been on a retreat, or taken some courses too. 

 

For best results, when you sign up for this course, please set the intention to meditate daily-ish 20 minutes during these 5 weeks.

The sessions will be recorded, in case you need to miss one.
